About Me

Born and raised in Western Massachusetts (that’s the nod to the 413), I've always been intuitive. As a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), I am able to read the energy of those around me. I’m the friend who knows just when to text you or can walk into a room and immediately feel “what’s off.”

I connect to spirit and deliver validation and messages from your loved ones through clairvoyance (seeing), clairaudience (hearing), clairsentience (feeling), claircognizance (knowing), and clairalience (smell).

Navigating grief & the holidays... let's talk about it.
Whether you're deep in grief or just missing your loved ones who have crossed, it can be hard to embrace the "joy" of the season. And that's okay! What's joyous for some can be an incredibly painful time for others. Here's what I found helpful:

🌟 Honor your feelings
Feel the feels, even if that means sneaking into the bathroom to have yourself a good cry. Maybe you found yourself overwhelmed with emotions, even anger (how could they NOT be here right now?!). Be kind to yourself. It's hard when the people we love are no longer here with us physically. Even if we know they're always *with* us, not being able to give them a hug still stings.

🎙 Talk about them (And to those supporting people who have lost loved ones, ASK about them)!
Share your stories; don't omit them from the conversations. It was a life lived and loved (even the difficult ones - lol), death doesn't erase their existence. When my mom passed, sharing (and hearing) "Judy stories" helped me establish a new normal without her.

🎉 Celebrate and honor them in the ways that feel authentic for you.
Every year I make a potato dish my Gram brought to our house every Christmas Eve. It is my favorite comfort food; it's the dish my mom and I would pull out of the fridge to reheat late at night long after company was gone (and stay up late gabbing). What started out as an honor to grandma, now ties all three generations together with one dish.

🕊 Give yourself some grace and lean on others.
Often, our friends and family don't know how to support us when we're grieving. Sometimes we need to be surrounded by love and laughter. Sometimes we need quiet and reflection. Sometimes we need to scream into a pillow. Whatever it is, let your people know so they can support where needed. And if you don't know what you need, just say THAT. Communicating how you're feeling is important.

While some love the scary side of this night, I've personally never been a fan. I don't do horror movies; I'm terrible sitting through suspense films. My nervous system can't handle it. Folks assume I'm cool with all things spooky since so much of my free time is spent chatting with people I can't see and tapping into energy. But that's the thing -- connecting with your loved ones on the Other Side isn't scary. It's filled with love and appreciation. And what's scary about that? :)

Tonight is a night where I embrace and honor. It's the chance for me to sit and chat with my people on the Other Side--to welcome them to the table, share my love and appreciation for them, and lean into the "magic" that can sometimes come along with it.

These pics are from last year. Sitting in our yard, enjoying the weather, and taking the opportunity to connect with my people, I sat in silence, channeling and asking Mom to step forward and show me she was there. My husband looked over and snapped a picture as I was talking to her. He didn't know it, but I had asked her to hold my hand and, alas, she showed up.

Whether you're having a meal with your family, taking littles trick-or-treating or passing out candy, heading to a party, curling up with your favorite movie (scary or not!) -- tonight I hope you lean into all the things that bring you joy. It's hard to do that, isn't it? To trust the process. To "have a little faith" that it ALL works out. When we're in the thick of things, it's *hard* to see past what's immediately in front of us.

What if we embrace the messages and signs from our loved ones on the Other Side that show their love, support, and guidance in those harder moments? What if we choose to believe that all good things WILL come to us at the right time?

As we embrace this season of letting go, trust that what's "falling away" or even "falling into place" is meant for you. Maybe you're excited about it, or maybe it's downright terrifying. I kicked off the official start to Autumn celebrating my 24th wedding anniversary wandering around historic sites and, of course, hugging some amazing trees.

I don't know about you, but I am *ready* for cozy season. It's a time for letting go of the things that no longer serve you; a time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the beauty in transformation. It's a time for embracing shifts and changes in all their forms.

Warm days, cool nights... trampling through the woods and hearing the crunch of the leaves beneath my boots makes my heart happy. And there's just something magical about that New England fall smell. For those of you not here in the Northeast, I truly wish I could bottle it up for you. ☺️

✨A little magic for today✨

Yesterday was my mom’s birthday. Since her passing, my new tradition is buying her favorite cake (maple walnut—YUM!) and enjoying a slice in her honor. It’s been a busy week of work and life, but she was on my mind all day. Before I went to bed, I wished her a Happy Birthday and told her I loved her.

Taking my dogs out before my first meetings of the day, my eldest pup went barreling down our hill BARKING and howling like mad at something in the bushes.

I couldn’t make out what it was and my other dog refused to go with me to figure it out. I had to enlist the help of my daughter to go grab whatever it was.

“MOM you’re NOT going to believe this… They’re BIRTHDAY balloons!”

Ahhh, there it was. After feeling like she’s been a little absent these days, Judster showed up with a sign I couldn’t miss.

I’m not sure why I’m always surprised—mom always delivers the best signs. The signy-est of signs at that. But it was just what I needed at just the right moment. The little nod to let me know she’s with me, still listening.

It felt like all the energy was sucked right on out of my body today, which should be no surprise with the intensity of this moon (seriously, is it daytime out there?!). Big, significant shifts in energy—being called to let go of that which no longer serves us and step into this next cycle.

Grounding is such an important part of my practice. It’s how I reset my whole system. A Carla-reboot, if you will.

After a really busy week of work, readings, and life—my team on the Other Side sort of spiritually slapped me on Friday. Exhausted and energetically drained, I tried to do a reading. And for the first time since officially doing this work—BLANK. Absolutely nothing resonated or truly popped through. *Crickets chirping* Thankfully I had THE kindest sitter and we had ourselves a few good laughs, but it certainly put things into perspective. A reminder of what I tell others—we can’t pour from an empty cup.

So—my hands were in the dirt this weekend gardening and soaking up the earth. I legit stopped to smell my roses (they smell heavenly right now, btw). I spent this afternoon immersed in the greenery and quiet of the Appalachian Trail in one of my fave spots—dirt under boots. I grounded. I hugged a few trees. I told the ferns they were pretty (why not? They were!). And I honored the energy around me.

Back to fully charged and ready to roll. Grateful for all the amazing sitters who have allowed me to work with them and blessed to have connected with their people. I truly appreciate all of you. 💚🌿✨

Signs from your loved ones can be subtle and sweet, while others are RIGHT there in your face. 🦋 Three years ago today, I kissed my momma for the last time.

✨ Three years ago today, I held her hand, told her I loved her, and played her all her favorite tunes.

🕊 Three years ago today, I told her, “It’s okay to let go,” and curled up next to her while she took her last breath.

🌟 Three years ago today, I told my last lie to her. I didn’t *want* her to go, but knew she needed to. Her body was tired; it was her time.

Being a medium doesn’t make grief any easier, but it does give me a slightly different perspective since her crossing. I know without a doubt she’s here when we need her. On the days that feel unbearably heavy, I lean in and ask for the signs. I play her favorite songs and eat her favorite foods. I talk ABOUT her and TO her (and yes, I do still talk sh*t about her - she IS my mother after all, death doesn’t change that! 😂).

So today, three years later, for Judy — I’m listening to Earth, Wind & Fire loudly. I’ve lit my candles, told her how much she is missed physically, and thanked her for the love and guidance along the way.

Three years later, it’s not *easier*... it’s just different. 💜

Welcoming spring here in the Northeast and doing some serious grounding today.

Nothing resets the soul like time in nature. 🌿 For me, being in the woods is where I connect best with *my* people on the Other Side. My mind is clear. Channels are fully open.

Today they showed up for sure—while hiking along in the quiet of the woods, I distinctly heard, “be aware.” I made note, but sort of ignored it. Turns out it was “BEAR!” As I made my way down the trail, just to the left of my husband was two black bear cubs about 10 feet away. He calmly said, “Bears,” to alert me and they ran off. When I looked up, about 30 feet past where they had just been, was Momma trying to figure out what we were and stood up to get a better peek. Thankfully we know what to do in these situations, but it made me take note—LISTEN. My people were trying to give me a heads up. Now whether it was truly “be aware” or “bear” doesn’t matter much, but at least I was on my toes. ☺️🐻🥾✨

Who else asked for a hummingbird today? 🥹

The birds — especially the cardinals — surrounded and chirped at me all day while I worked from my deck. Others were singing in the woods behind me and this lil’ guy kept popping up throughout the day. The signs were a little lacking yesterday, but looks like Mom showed up in full force today. 😂 I can almost hear her now… “Oh, you want a sign? HERE’S your damn sign… and another and another and…” *Queue cardinal swooping at my head*

I LOVE talking about signs and how loved ones on The Other Side show they're still with us. It's truly one of my favorite things. ((And if you haven't read Laura Lynne Jackson's book on the subject - this is YOUR sign to go get it!))

Finding hearts or heart-shaped objects in random places... feathers where there are no birds... suddenly smelling your dad's favorite after-shave when there's no one around... a bumper sticker with a saying that only your mom would say...

*Those* are the little gifts that can totally make your day. A nod from our loved ones when, perhaps, you need it the most or just to make you smile. Signs are my favorite way to continue the conversation with my loved ones even though they aren't physically here.

When my mom died in 2022, I asked her regularly for signs to let me know she was still hanging out. I leaned into the "woo-woo" and gave her challenges (knowing fully her response would be, 'You KNOW I'm not a magician, right?'). Every time her favorite song would play on the radio or randomly in public. Every cardinal, hummingbird, or butterfly that appeared in unexpected places. Every light that flickered after just being replaced.

I'd ask for the signs, and Judster would send them. I'd smile--sometimes cry--and give a little, "Thanks, Mom" to let her know I was paying attention.

Grief is hard. Losing people we love often feels impossible. Nothing replaces their physical being. But receiving a sign is one of the best ways for them to let us know they're still with us - still listening, guiding, and loving us - even when we can't see them.

I’ve always been an intuitive empath, but it wasn’t until about a year ago that I started to lean a little harder into the Woo-Woo and investigate some of the weird things happening in my life. Unlike the Sixth Sense, I didn’t “see dead people,” but I sure did receive all their fun signs (smelling their favorite flowers or baked goods; seeing their favorite people and places; learning they passed from a stroke — good times, lol).

It’s been a weird and wild ride of learning and practicing with family, friends, friends of friends... and now it’s time to broaden the circle a little wider!
